This volume also includes correspondence, Mar. and Dec. 1967, re the club's participation in the RSVP program supporting servicemen in Vietnam, in which Columbia organizations adopted military units serving in Southeast Asia; the garden club received thank-you notes for it's gifts sent to enlisted men serving in the 213th Assault Support Helicopter Company. Ephemera in this volume includes promotional materials for other civic work, including broadside, "Turn on your porch ligh! Fight polio tonight" (29 Jan. 1953). Second oversize scrapbook, 1981-2005, includes programs; obituaries and other clippings re members; photographs of neighborhoods and gardens in Heathwood and elsewhere; images of Ikebana, Japanese flower arrangements completed by members; and farewell email, 18 May 2004, re disbanding of the club. Both oversize scrapbooks include specimen scripts, 25 Sept. 1952 and [ca.1953], from Garden Topics, a talk show that aired on WIS-AM radio hosted by Mrs. Rachel Coward.
